ÁÔÆæÖØ¿ÚÊÓƵ’s doctoral leadership program is ideal for individuals who have completed a master’s degree at an accredited institution. Students typically complete this 60-credit hour doctoral program in three years.

For students who have reached All But Dissertation (A.B.D.) status at another institution, ÁÔÆæÖØ¿ÚÊÓƵ offers a customized pathway to completing their doctorate. Through a portfolio assessment of competencies acquired from prior coursework, life experiences, and scholarship, students may transfer up to 45 credit hours. 
 

Hybrid Learning Format

The program features a hybrid learning format, combining in-person and online coursework. Students attend four 3-hour in-person meetings per term, approximately every other week, while completing the rest of the coursework on your own schedule online. This format allows students to benefit from face-to-face interactions and the convenience of online learning, making the program accessible to professionals seeking to advance their careers. 
 

Comprehensive Curriculum

The Ph.D. in Leadership program at ÁÔÆæÖØ¿ÚÊÓƵ University consists of a Leadership Core, a Research Core, and a Dissertation Component. These components build on what students learn in each course, ensuring a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience.

The Leadership Core covers advanced systems theory, organizational analysis, ethical decision-making, strategic leadership, diversity, social justice, and conflict resolution. The Research Core includes a colloquium, quantitative and qualitative research design, and mixed methods research. Students also choose one advanced research course: instrument design, advanced quantitative, or advanced qualitative research.

The dissertation is the culmination of the doctoral program and reflects high scholarly competence. Students must first submit and defend their dissertation proposal before advancing to the entire dissertation, which involves original research in their area of concentration. The dissertation process spans three semesters and includes periodic meetings with the dissertation committee for feedback and guidance.
